Friend's Birthday is coming up

My friend's birthday is July 2 and when I got this free digi stamp today I knew it was perfect for her. Can't remember where digi came from but it is lovely. Did the card in black and white with just some touches of red!

Great to be Outside

It has been too hot, humid or rainy to be in yard much this spring and summer so today it was great to get out and work in yard.

This is a flower bed outside my back door. It will soon be full of blooms of Daisies, Black eyed Susans and Cone flowers. The bees love this spot!!!

I am very fond of hostas and setum. So easy to maintain and love the lush greens. The bush is a burning bush which will turn red in late summer or early fall. A friend gave it to me when my brother passed.

Love to spend time in back yard but weather has not been good for that this summer. Need to get a new umbrella so I can enjoy eating and reading here.

Recycling greeting cards

Friends give me their used greeting cards to recycle and here are some I made yesterday. I will give these to friends to use. I enjoy making cards and they enjoy using them. :)

Another Wet Day in Iowa

Coneflowers are one of my favorites. They have such a long blooming time. This Lily is such a pale pink with darker edges!

We have had so much rain this Spring that the ground is saturated and rivers out of banks.
Haven't had much time to scrap lately. Been lucky enough to have time with family and gks.

Seem like grand children grow up so quickly so time with them is precious.

My friend, Lee has been posting the most beautiful pics of her flowers on her blog so I decided to try posting a couple of mine. The pics are not as great as the real life flowers but they are OK for me.

Happy Sunday

Day lilies are now blooming where earlier in spring a bed of lily of the valley bloomed. Sweet potato vines which is one of my favorites. Only plant I bought this year.

Hollyhocks that I started from seed four years ago and they reseed each year. They are named black hollyhocks but are actually a deep purple

Love these lilies.

Also love these. You can see my perennial geranium in lower right corner. It has already bloomed.

More hostas, some ferns and my rhododendron which was lovely when in bloom but the extreme hot weather in May cause the bloom to died sooner than usual.

Planted marigold in the swan and they are doing well. This planter gets so hot during summer that not many things grow well in it.

Lilies, peonies and in upper left corner a clematis that needs a trellis soon.

Nasturtiums that I was hoping would be multi colored but seem to be bright orange.

Love clematis and have several in my yard.

This bed is coneflower, daisies, black eyed susans and day lilies. I really should thin the plants but just can't seem to pull them! :)

More marigolds and cala lilies. The lily bulbs are not very good because blooms should be larger.

Holly hocks, and on the left is dahlia. Holy hocks hide the reserection lilies pm the right but when they bloom the holly hocks should be done. Columbine and weeds in right corner.

More lilies and they are red when blooming. They were bought from our city park plant sale and are such sturdy plants. More clematis on each side of arbor.

This trellis will soon be full of red rose bloom. This plant used to be more full but I am hard on roses.

More roses are beginning to climb here but wanted to show the bird house my little grandson gave me a couple years ago. I finally got it hung.

Cala lily that is much smaller than most lilies. Must be cheap bulbs!

Went to church with a friend and out to lunch. Home now and planning to work in yard because it is such a beautiful day. Wanted to share some of the plants in my yard since I have loved seeing my friend Lee's garden.

Summer

It has been a long time since I have posted any thing. I try to send my grandkids a card often so made these to send them for Summer break from school. Hope they like them.
