Two more days of 2007

Here are pictures of albums!

The year is about over and hope it has been mostly good for all of you. I have had a wonderful year with very few problems. I am thankful for that and thinking of and praying for all those who have been through bad times. Hopefully 2008 will be a new beginning and a blessing.
I have been having fun making the accordion album that is on 2 peas. I am making one for my self with Christmas pictures and beginning one for my GD for her birthday that she can put her pictures in this year.
My DDs are joining me tonight and we are going to have a long distance crop night.
Hope it works out so we can do it more often.

Hillary Clinton was in Burlington

I forgot to post that I attended a rally for Hillary Clinton a few days before Christmas. I enjoyed it very much and wanted to go up after speech and meet her but she had so many people wanting to do the same I decided to pass.
December 26 she, Bill and Chelsea were in Mt. Pleasant. I was having a little stomach problem. Probably ate too much junk during holidays. I did go to Mt. Pleasant but because they were going to be 2 hours late and I was really not feeling very well I came home without seeing them, darn!

Christmas is past but the memories will last forever!

My son and his family came on Christmas eve day and stayed until morning of December 26. It was so much fun to be together and enjoy the grandchildren getting up to all their surprises on Christmas. I did miss the family who could not be here but talked to them on the phone and got lots of pictures of their family's celebration.
Hope everyone had a great holiday and are looking forward to a wonderful New Year!

Foggy Day!

Snow, Ice, Fog........what weather, and the first day of winter is yet to arrive!
It is Iowa though, and I guess after living here my entire life the weather should not surprise me.......but I always hope it will be 78 and sunny year round ;)
I worked on the folders for the album yesterday. I was only going to make a few and I got carried away... made all 22! Maybe I can keep up with girls on our cropping night.
Oh, I think today is black monday at Post Office. Last day to mail Christmas pkg. and know they will get to their destination by Christmas. I have already mailed mine.

Another snowy week end in Iowa!

I just came in from shoveling the driveway. It is not too cold out, 25 degrees and not wind, so it was really ok shoveling. The snow is not heavy so that is another plus. I guess if it weren't for bad weather I would be sitting in the house on the couch relaxing and getting lazy. :) That doesn't sound too bad, does it?

My daughters and I have a cropping night planned when we are going to make a pocket album that Alicia found on a blog site. I have just made a couple pockets and can't wait until the night we are going to make tham. We will be in different locations but will work on it and keep in touch by phone or computer postings.

Here are the sample pockets I have made.

Tea bag folding

I am shut inside again by more ice and this freezing rain is to last for almost 24 hours.
I went a little crazy last night folding kites. I plan to use them on note cards for gifts for friends. Wish me luck. I think I might have folded too many. :) I'll post the note cards later.

I tried teabag folding and iris folding!

This is the tea bag fold. I hope to try more of this.

It was another icy Sunday in Iowa so I kept busy doing some tea bag folding and iris folding. I had never heard of either so it is a new experience for me and I think I could become addicted to the iris fold. It will be good entertainment for me during snowy winter nights and maybe days. The weather prediction for tonight and tomorrow is more ICE maybe and inch or more, ugh! May not have power if that is true, brrrr!
Well, here is some of my projects.

First magical snow of the season!

Well, it is that time of the year in Iowa. Last week end we had freezing rain so the snow is much better. Schools are on a 2 hour delay in area and not much traffic for a week day morning.

I did get out to shovel sidewalks and driveway and I am glad it it done! I took a picture before I shoveled to share the beauty of the season with you. Thank goodness I don't have to trim the hedge (on the right side of picture) for a while.

Hello from cold Iowa.

Just stopped by to share some of the cards I have made since my daughters got me hooked on crafting. I am not very good at it yet but hope to get better and learn more.

I made this file folder card on the week end scraping at scrap shotz. The week end was fun and I created a couple things that were pretty good.

Welcome to my blog...

My daughter, Alicia, set this up for me and I am still not sure why... :) She says it is to display all of my lovely card creations.

I guess I had better not disappoint.

Here is a set of cards we made while I was in KC to visit her. We used a One Sheet Wonder template she found on the Internet.
